Welcome to a collection of Graham Carver's art works consisting of limited editions and signed open edition prints covering the subject matters of the Yorkshire Coastline, Dales and Lake District all reproduced either as Litho or Giclee prints from original watercolour paintings.
Artist Biography
Graham Carver lived his early life in Norfolk. He studied art and design at Hornsey College of Art in London before moving to Leeds College of Art to study painting. He subsequently made his home in Yorkshire and taught art and design in Leeds for a number of years before becoming a full time artist.
Graham has exhibited in some of the leading galleries in the UK, including the Leeds City Art Gallery, the Cartwright Hall, Bradford, the Ginnel Gallery, Manchester, the Talbot Galleries, Lancaster, the Headrow and Oakwood galleries in Leeds, and the Bankside and Mall Galleries in London. In recent years his work has become nationally recognised, not only through the country-wide sales of his originals and limited edition prints, but also through exhibition success in the national watercolour competition sponsored by Singer and Friedlander and the Sunday Times.
Although best known for his watercolour topographical views, he paints urban subjects and also works in oils. His work displays a particular interest in the effects of light upon the buildings and landscape, sunlight and shadow often forming important elements in the composition.
His original work is mainly in the hands of private collectors, not only in the UK but also in France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada and the United States.
